Newcastle Students Attend Texas A
May 25, 2009

Math teacher, Courtney Bozeman, accompanied five NHS students on a trip to College Station, Texas and the campus of Texas A&M University to participate in an academic camp specifically designed for high school students interested in pursuing some type of engineering degree. Senior Bua Songmustraporn and sophomore students, Dakota Lowe, Jacob Forbus, Cody Lowe, and Shane Potter made the trip to Aggieland and had a great time investigating a possible engineering career as well as exploring the A&M campus and their engineering programs. Each one of the students came back very excited about the field of engineering and very impressed with the Texas A&M campus. It was a great opportunity for them to take a glimpse into their future as college students and I believe they all liked what they saw.
Mrs. Bozeman also came away from the camp very impressed with the management of the camp and the wonderful opportunities they provided the students and their sponsors to learn more about the engineering field and the Texas A&M campus. Mrs. Bozeman hopes to be able to take even more students to the engineering camp next year. It is a great opportunity for our kids to see what is available to them upon graduation from high school.
