Bobcats Play in Huckabay Monday, February 15th @ 6:30

The Newcastle LadyCats and Bobcats came out winners Tuesday night in their respective games with the Gordon Lady Longhorns and Longhorns. The LadyCats got off to a pretty slow start with the Lady Horns but came alive in the second quarter and finished the game with a 47 - 41 victory. The Bobcats played another great home game defeating the Longhorns by a score of 53 - 29.

The LadyCat victory earns them the second place position in district 15-A basketball and a first round playoff game with the Rising Star Lady Wildcats! Apparently it will be a "Cat" fight for sure! The date of the game has been settled on Tuesday, February 16th at 6:30 pm in Stephenville at Henderson Junior High School (address: 2798 Frey ).

The Bobcat basketball team is still fighting hard to maintain their playoff hopes and the district standings could end up in a three-way tie for second place! If the Bobcats defeat Bryson Friday night and then get revenge in Huckabay Monday night at 6:30 the Bobcats, Huckabay and Lingleville will end the season with identical 10-4 district records. Three way ties must be broken using a round-robin type tie breaker that will take place beginning next Thursday night and will probably go through Saturday to determine the districts' second and third place representatives!

The LadyCats and Bobcats have done a great job this season and we need to continue to support both teams during their playoff runs! It would be great to publish a picture of our teams raising a trophy over their heads! Go Green!!!
