ABOUT ME: After 27 years of teaching English in Graham, I am starting my second year here at Newcastle. I am married to a Newcastle graduate, Ricky Clayborn, and I am the mother of two NHS graduates, Katy Clayborn and Jennifer Clayborn. Katy is now a Junior at Texas A&M and Jennifer is a Freshman at Tarleton State University. Our third daughter, Amy, is a Freshman at NHS where she is active in sports and is a varsity cheerleader. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts Teaching in English. Both of my degrees are from Tarleton State University. I love to read, and I would like to instill a love for reading into my students. The ability to read and comprehend is the basis of all education. Without it, students will not achieve up to their full potential in any of their other subjects. I believe that everyone can learn and better him or herself. All of our students have the potential to create their own characters that will allow them to have successful, productive lives.
